Technical Assistance and Professional Development
Consultant Team
Can you help us bring Excellence Within Reach of all students? As a result of our team of highly qualified consultants, a 2006 review of three years of student performance data confirms that over 80% of the districts and schools that have purchased CT Academy tools and services for multiple years have improved science and mathematics achievement overall and reduced performance gaps among students.
Our mathematics and science consultants are highly respected veteran educators with expertise spanning from early elementary through college and university teaching and administration. Each consultant has years of actual classroom and/or supervisory experience and has demonstrated the ability to be flexible and work shoulder-to-shoulder with educators as trusted colleagues.
CT Academy consultants, who are independent contractors, receive initial and continuing training in our Refining Your Strategies: Mathematics and/or Science Programs, and the protocols necessary to successfully lead a project. The CT Academy carefully matches consultants' talents, expertise, and grade-level experience with the needs of school districts that use our services.
The CT Academy provides professional liability insurance at no charge to our consultants and competitive hourly or daily compensation; including payment for preparation, planning, and presentation time. Consultants are supervised by the Vice President of Educational Services who negotiates contracts directly with the districts. Mathematics or Science Facilitators assist consultants with planning the contracted activities, obtaining materials to be used, and serve as liaisons with the district to which the consultant is assigned.
If you believe that you can help Connecticut school districts to provide outstanding mathematics and/or science education that produce enduring student achievement gains, please contact Cindi Hartshorn at 860.346.1177 or email at chartshorn@ctacad.org.
