The Associated Teachers of Mathematics in Connecticut 's (ATOMIC) goal is to provide vision, leadership, and support to the K-16 mathematics community in Connecticut with respect to the teaching and learning of mathematics. ATOMIC believes that every student should be ensured a world-class education in mathematics and every teacher of mathematics to grow professionally. Through publications, the distribution of curriculum materials, and professional development activities, ATOMIC provides a forum for the discussion of current trends in the teaching and learning of mathematics and effective classroom practice.

The Connecticut Academy 's mission is to raise both the extent and quality of all Connecticut students' engagement with mathematics, science, and technology. It is the state-designated advocate, broker, and facilitator for high standards teaching and learning and administers Connecticut 's Statewide Systemic Initiative. It provides a variety of technical assistance services and tools to enhance the capacity of school districts, help to strengthen teacher preparation, and engage public support.

The members of the CTABT strive to:
*  support the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) and are
    committed to the task of promoting NABT membership

*  encourage and stimulate state and local activities that will keep teachers

Connecticut Association for Mathematically Precocious Youth

CAMPY was formed in 1998 to meet the needs of mathematically precocious youth. It provides workshops for teachers, parents, and students and offers advice to those seeking help identifying programming appropriate for mathematically gifted youth. It plans to develop an interactive website and Connecticut Center for Mathematically Precocious Youth.

Connecticut Association of Physics Teachers

The Connecticut Association of Physics Teachers is dedicated to the support and encouragement of physics teachers throughout the state. This is accomplished through a number of workshops, field trips and dinner meetings. The organization cosponsors with PIMMS, the Physics Teachers Institute, twice a year at Choate Rosemary Hall.

Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology

The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) activity was initiated to develop a national center of excellence that addresses both military and civilian industrial needs. CCAT works in partnership with industry, government, and academia to strengthen technology- led economic competitiveness. CCAT facilitates collaborative efforts to enhance the capabilities of current and emerging industries. CCAT's educational mission is to promote scientific and educational literacy and to increase life-long appreciation for the role of technology in our culture.

Connecticut Educators Computer Association

CECA's mission is to promote, disseminate information about, and educate school personnel in the use of technology and its integration into the curriculum. It serves its members with an annual conference, annual legislative educational technologies exposition, seminars, a website, newsletters, and an email listserv. It is working with the State Department of Education to establish standards for the integration of technology into the curriculum and with vendors to establish special pricing for Connecticut schools.

Connecticut Energy Council for Teachers

CONNECT seeks to promote energy education in Connecticut classrooms by fostering communication and the exchange of ideas, programs, materials, and resources among K-12 teachers, university and vocational educators, consumer information specialists, and the general public. It provides two annual conferences, regional workshops and field trips, newsletters, and a website, as well as reviews instructional materials and activities.

Connecticut Geographic Alliance

CGA is an organization of educators, business people and other citizens dedicated to improving geographic education in Connecticut .

The mission of the Connecticut Geographic Alliance is to promote the increase and diffusion of geographic knowledge, foster innovation in geographic education, and encourage stewardship and conservation of Earth's natural and cultural resoources in prekindergarten through college.

CGA is part of National Geographic Society's Geographic alliance Network. Alliance activities are supported by an endowment from the National Geographic society. In addition, the University of Connecticut provides a home for the alliance in its Geography Department.

Connecticut Outdoor and Environmental Education Association

COEEA's mission is to develop a better understanding of the environment and promote responsibile environmental stewardship through educational activities.  It serves 150 members with an annual conference, annual meeting, regional and specialty workshops and newsletters.  It is the state affiliate of the New England Environmental Educational Association.

Connecticut Science Supervisors Association

CSSA is an organization of more than 140 science leaders in education who work together to achieve the following goals:
•  To improve communications among science supervisors, teachers, administrators, and boards of education;
•  To examine and evaluate curricula in science;
•  To improve academic standards;
•  To review, update and disseminate health and safety standards and procedures in science;
•  To promote and conduct professional development activities for supervisors and teachers of science;
•  To serve as a public advocate for science education in Connecticut;
•  To represent the membership on state and national issues in science education;
•  To act as a consultant and resource to state and local agencies on science issues;
•  To promote research in science education; and
•  To cooperate with other professional organizations for the improvement of science education.

To that end, CSSA holds a quarterly lecture series and works with CSTA to cosponsor an annual science educator's conference. CSSA is in the process of incorporating as a non-profit association. Members may jointly belong to the National Science Education Leadership Association (NSELA).

CT Technology Education Association

CTEA's mission is to promote technological literacy for all by supporting the teaching of technology education in grades K-12. The CTEA, provides Connecticut technology education teachers, professional development, recognition and award opportunities, annual conferences, newsletters, a website and classroom activities. CTEA also supports the Connecticut Technology student Association and sponsors numerous student technology related competitions.

CTEA works with the State Department of Education in developing policy, curriculum and leadership for Connecticut Teachers and Students.

It is the state affiliate of the International Technology Association.

PIMMS

PIMMS' mission is to increase mathematics and science education for all students throughout Connecticut by offering high-quality professional development programs for teachers. These include the two-year Fellowship programs and a two-year Science Technology Institute held on the Wesleyan campus, One-Week Institutes offered in sites around the state, the BEST mathematics and science scorers' training program, school-based professional development, Academic year institutes in physics, biology, chemistry, biotechnology, earth science, and a summer program for students.

CSDE's Mathematics, Science, and Technology Consultants have broad responsibilities for helping the State Board of Education implement its strategic plan for improving student performance. Mathematics Association of Two Year Colleges in CT

MATYCONN is an affiliate of AMATYC, American Association of Two-Year Colleges. The sole National Mathematics Association that focuses on mathematics teaching for the freshman and sophomore, as well as mathematics needs for students not yet ready for college-level mathematics. MATYCONN is dedicated to promoting good teaching in Connecticut 's Two-Year Colleges. Two dinner conferences are planned each year along with workshops, and in addition to promoting the professional development offered through AMATYC, MATYCONN has worked to promote a 3 or 5-day summer workshop in CT. MATYCONN provides a forum for instructors of mathematics in Connecticut to discuss issues relevant to teaching foundation and collegiate math courses in Connecticut . For example: placement assessment implementing the AMATYC Standards.
