Algebra 1 Curriculum Project

Overview

The CT Academy is honored to serve as the facilitator for this strong partnership that is guided by world-class mathematics educators to embark upon a defining moment for Connecticut students. We enter into this work with focus, tenacity, and a great sense of responsibility to students.

The program deliverables include specific learning expectations with examples, organized into coherent instructional units with sample lessons for each unit, as well as examples of formative, interim, and model end-of-course assessments. The collaboration will also develop and deliver a model for the professional development of teachers and their schools/districts that will support their transition to the model Algebra I curriculum. Moreover, the partners - with assistance from the CT STEM Business Collaborative - will develop strategies to engage adults, children and families to support mathematical 21st Century skills as important for continuing education beyond high school, securing better jobs, and preparing to be a contributing citizen.
