The 2006-2007 Annual Report illuminates the CT Academy's recent achievements and provides insights into our future opportunities.

The CT Academy is entering its Fourth and most exciting “Era” (2007-2012). In many ways we have been ahead of the times in such matters as: better use of time, exploiting data to guide educational decision making, initiating a science diagnostic instrument, and integrating technology into our schools.

However, we were “invented” by the state of Connecticut for this next era's greatest opportunity, which is to generate the “Political Resolve and Public Will” to close the enduring gaps in student achievement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through implementation of a comprehensive Connecticut improvement plan.

The Connecticut Academy for Education has used Excellence Within Reach as our motto since 1993 because it is what we believe. Information in this year's report confirms that excellence in learning mathematics and science is within reach of all students, regardless of their personal background or community in which they live. Excellence within Reach is not simply a slogan: it is our obligation to all children, and It Works!
