LEARNING Mathematics, Science & Technology: It's Personal

For nearly two decades the CT Academy has worked systemically to improve the development and delivery of robust education in mathematics, science and technology (MST) for all students.

We will now sharply focus our resources to help bring more balance to Connecticut's systemic reform efforts to improve instruction in MST. This balance will be achieved by creating a culture where ALL students understand WHY they must learn and are willing to make a personal commitment to learning.

We will leverage our effort by energizing and facilitating partnerships among organizations that have existing connections with student, parents, educators, and community leaders to foster stronger family support for children to succeed and by heightening community expectations that all children can and must learn more to secure their future.

The Academy and its Board believe this to be a moment of great opportunity. The invitation to join is open to all. Let us, then, work together to make it a reality.

Respectfully,
Jean LaVecchia, Chairperson Board of Directors and
Richard C. Cole, President and Chief Executive Officer
